New Haven, CT – July 15, 2009 – Author Martin H. Petry, a.k.a. The Mutt has returned to Connecticut after 21 years to begin work on a new novel.

Martin Petry was born in Miami, Fla. raised in New York and Ridgefield, Connecticut. He attended Bryant College in Rhode Island and earned a degree in Business Administration/Marketing, however he did not discover his passion for crafting tales until after experiencing life in the corporate world, life on the road, life on the run and even life in the circus, eventually winding up as an unemployed tree-climber.

After a debilitating injury left him temporarily unable to work Martin sought sanity in words and began writing what would eventually become the first book in The Hard Justice Trilogy – The Violation. Hard Justice is a riveting tale of murder, terrorism and explosive change, set primarily in Lyme, Connecticut. Over a five year period Martin struggled with the publishing industry as the single book became a trilogy, which was recently completed, is now in print and available for sale to the public. The second volume of the Hard Justice Trilogy is Peregrination and the third is entitled Expurgation. The first two novels of the trilogy were recently adapted for potential film projects by his long-time friends and business partners, Tracy LeCates and Rachel Osborne.

Throughout five years of personal upheaval and turmoil Martin also wrote volumes of handwritten poetry, some of which is contained within his first published book of poetry, By the Eyes of a Poet, which was released shortly after completion of the fiction trilogy. Another book of poetry, Facing a Mirror is due to be released before the end of the summer.

Martin is now residing in the New Haven area where he is hard at work on a new project. This time the novel is a non-fiction. The title is Convoking Hell, and it promises to be his best work to date.

ABOUT USAMUTT
USAMutt.com was created in early 2009, and was based on the premise of one of Martin’s early writings, “The Gathering”. USAMutt encourages visitors and participants to look at the world from a different perspective, to get back to the basics of humanity and common sense, and to live their dreams. Through the core tenants of TALENT, ENERGY, COOPERATION and GENEROSITY, USAMutt seeks to support artists of every kind. Other fledgling authors are encouraged to post their work, or work with some of the other “Muttsters” to polish their work and publish it, no matter what genre they choose. Rachel Osborne, who penned the screenplay for Peregrination also contributed the artwork for the cover – a quilt she’d sewn which she’d been inspired to create based upon the book itself. Rachel is looking towards completing more screenplays based on Martin’s work, along with some original screenwriting and production. She is currently working on a project of her own through USAMutt called “Flaming Red”. Tracy LeCates (a.k.a. The Goddess) is another Muttster with a creative mission. She is working on an original novel she intends to publish through USAMutt, and is participating in the writing of Martin’s new non-fiction novel, Convoking Hell. She and Mutt first met in their hometown of Ridgefield almost 30 years ago. No talent is too young for USAMutt to discover and nurture. Currently there is a ten year old author who is working on a series of children’s books based on the adventures of two Labrador retrievers. USAMutt has recently teamed up with Basso Productions with an eye towards both the big screen and the little screen.

One of the most popular areas of the site is the Mutt Sightings section, which contains videos of interviews, and some very candid, unscripted short adventures of the Mutt Unleashed. USAMutt is also where the howling over politics, religion, spirituality, health, current events and other topics takes place, on the open forum. There are also sections of the website set up for samples of Martin’s writing – the first chapter of each Hard Justice book is posted for readers, as are samples of his poetry.

USAMutt’s team thanks Basso Productions and the people at WTNH in New Haven for the opportunity to spread their messages and to share Martin Petry’s writing.
