Since 1997, I have amassed a variety of experience directing independent films as well as theatrical productions and commercial projects. Used Books, a short film I wrote and directed, was an official selection for the 2007 Rhode Island International Film Festival. Under my direction The Pitch, a 48 Hour Film Project, won awards for Audience Favorite and as 2nd Runner Up. In 2008, I simultaneously directed two films—Rashomon in Pear Shape (horror) and Pear Shaped Rashomon (thriller)—for the 48 Hour Film Project. Some of my other film projects include Half-Written and Folded in Two. Commercially, I have directed two advertisements for a ZipCar contest and well as other projects.
Theatrically, I most recently directed five award-winning scripts from the Rhode Island International Film festival’s ScriptBiz.08—an annual conference for screenwriters. From 1997 through 2000, I created and directed Reality Check—a theatre troupe at Franklin Pierce University that presents engaging skits on teen issues for local schools and community centers. In 2005, I returned to Franklin Pierce University and have since held the position of Professional Coordinator and Directing Mentor of summer theatre workshops for the cast of Reality Check.
I continue to develop my acting skills through performances in feature and independent films, as well as theatrical works. I have completed many creative roles in films such as Casting Doubt, The Miskatonic Acid Test, McMulligan's Hovel, and Nun of That. At the age of twenty-one, I starred in Blood Wedding—an off West End theatrical performance in London. For four years, I was a lead actor in the Providence-based dinner theatre troupe, Murder On Us.
Finally, I teach acting classes for children throughout New England for Performing Arts Programs and filmmaking to youth in Woonsocket, Rhode Island through NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley.
I am a 2000 graduate (Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and a minor in Theatre Arts) of Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire and currently reside in Providence with my fiancée Kerri and our super rabbit named Emily.
Oh, I'm hoping that within the next year I won't have to have a "Day Job" I would love to just be able to do film. Currently, though, my bills do not allow for such a luxury... especially producing a film! You can check out my blog http://fromheretotheremovie.blogspot.com/ and I'll send you the website when it's up and running!
Also been busy... currently working on a feature length film as a producer and actress, filming starts in October and of course still keeping "a day job" because film doesn't always pay the bills. I'll check out your web pages :-)
