- I am one of the founding members of The Capitol Cinema Collective and Treasurer. The CCC produces KinoKafe, where we show films for free that anyone (including you) want to show. We also produce the LoRes Fest and the Hartford International Film Festival (both celebrated their 3rd appearance in Hartford.
- My Projects:
- The Hartford International Film Festival (HIFF), scheduled for the second weekend in November. In 2008 we had 32 films from CT, the US, Iran, and Belgium. We are in 8 theaters around Hartford. Kino KAFE (explained above). The LoRes Fest where we hand out single-use DVD cameras which are 20 minutes long. We typically have two rules: shot in Hartford within 24 hours and something that changes yearly. Afterwards we download the cameras and edit them onto a single DVD which we publically show. Everyone who partcipated gets their raw footage back and the completed DVD. In 2006 we had 33 partcipants, 2007 15, and in 2008, 20 partcipants. With LoRes, anyone (including me) can make a film.
