Connecticut Film Space

To promote independent filmmaking in Connecticut

This is my first steps into professional short film making and I don't have the budget, the actors, or the equipment. but what i do have is a love for film making. My main question is whats the best way to connect with people in my a local area ( Uncasville around the casino) to team up and make short films with, bounce ideas around with meet with people that have there heart in the film. Unlike my friends who are down for the idea of making the movie the day shooting is taking place, its hard to push them to help me through the entire film making process. I do all aspects of film now from the writing to filming to directing to acting to producing, editing and music.

I was wondering on where I get my start in helping in real movie productions,

Get my foot in the door?

Brian

Come to one of our monthly meetings and meet people just like you. sectfilm.net :-)

This month we may not have our regular meeting due to the Film Industry Mixer (most of us will attend) it is the same day as our meeting. However we may try to move it to the second Saturday of the month instead if the first.

Brian,

A good place for real world training and meeting key industry people is the Connecticut Film Industry Progam sponsered by the state of CT. Our instuctors were world class highly regarded film professional. If you look them up on the IMDB there credits don't fit on one page. The program concluded last month but if they keep the tax credit in plce as it is the program will run again next summer. Check it out here: http://www.ctfilmworkforce.com/fitpsummer_overview.php

The 1st AD worked on The Horse Whisperer, The Director does Law and Order. My camera instructor Angelo DiGiacomo was agreat guy. Check him out here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0223859/.
